The Guava is a tropical fruit and rarely ever mentioned when we talk about nutrition. I really don’t like this fruit because its flesh is a bit tough but its nutrition is immense.

Guava fruits can be round, ovoid, or pear-shaped. The best varieties are soft when ripe, some have a crunchy texture with edible rind and seeds. The varieties can come in white, pink, yellow, and even red. Its small seeds range between 100 and 500 per fruit.

Guava is incredibly high in vitamin C. In fact, a guava fruit contains four times more vitamin C than a medium-sized orange; And ten times more vitamin A than a lemon!

Guava is an excellent source of fiber with almost 70 times more fiber than what can be found in an orange. Other key nutrients are vitamins B2 and E, calcium, copper, folate, iron, manganese, phosphorus, and potassium.
