The dates is the fruit obtained from the Phoenix palm species, mainly the Phoenix dactylifera species , popularly known as the date palm, and distributed from the Canary Islands, through North Africa and South Asia, to the Far East.

There is also the Medjool date, with wrinkled skin and a texture similar to that of a toffee caramel . In our country, this fruit has an outstanding production in Elche.

The dates is a fruit and is not a dried fruit despite having a similar consistency and appearance, clarify the Spanish nutritionists. This fruit is not left to dry after harvesting, but is dried in the sun on the same tree and then harvested.
